I still exist, no worries. Eventually, the comic will start updating again, but life comes before hobbies, right?
You can now follow me on Twitter. Not a big fan of Twitter, but I know it's a good way to advertise the comic, and comic readers like to know what's going on with the artists.
I honestly regret vanishing without a word, right when updates were supposed to start back up. A combination of things happened to cause this...
2-severe thunderstorms daily for almost 2 weeks in a row, with the occasional tornado thrown in (though not at my house, thankfully)
3-my great grandfather had to have surgery done
4-other family drama
At this time, I cannot give a precise estimate of when the comic will begin updating again. It's kind of hard to draw a humorous comic when you're horribly depressed because of all the drama and nonsense in your life. I will say I am doing sketches and trying to build up at least 2 months worth of completed comics before I go back to regular updates.
I can't devote too much time to it though, because of stuff going on in the real world, and because of work. It's not exactly a paying job, but it's still work, for the company my mom and I run. I've been redoing the company's website.
I encourage people to visit it, as I'm trying to add content daily (or every couple days) and feedback on what works and what doesn't would be helpful. Broken links, missing images, other technical problems, aren't things I can always see for myself because they vary by computer, OS and browser.
The page I was hoping to get up today will be posted tomorrow. Then I'll be updating MWF starting next week, in COLOR! Wooo. I hope you're excited. XD
This Friday through Sunday is Animazement, in Raleigh/Durham. My fiance and I will be there. I'm dressing as a Clavat, and my fiance as a Selkie, from Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles.
Since I've never seen anyone else do a FFCC cosplay, we'll probably be the only ones. If you're going to be there and you see us, be sure to say hi! =D
Hey guys, I started another comic. :3
This new comic will in no way effect the updates for The Alien Cat. The Alien Cat is primary and dominant. Connor is just a whimsical little side project I decided to start because of a funny conversation with my mom this afternoon about karma. ^-^
I am currently back to working on the comic. My classes are done for a while. I may or may not be taking classes this summer. If I do though, they shouldn't be as time-consuming as this past semester was, since they're electives. I have to organize my junk. I let the house fall to ruin while I was scrambling around to get things done for my classes. As a result, some of my partially-completed pages have sort of disappeared. I'm not sure yet which would take longer: finding them or redoing them! XD
If I do not take classes this summer, I'll be trying to find a job. In the interim, I will be dedicating as much time as possible to the comic. And assuming I'll have time to experiment, I may change the structure of the comic a little bit. I want to do more vectors, like the original was. I know more about Adobe Illustrator now, so some of the problems I had shouldn't be as much of an issue.
I might add another section to the site for vector WIPs. If you like the vectors, make sure to comment and let me know that you do. I want to make my readers happy with the comic, but in order to do that, I need to know what makes you happy with it!
Assuming I can find and/or redraw the missing pages this week, updates should resume next week, sometime around the 20th. I'm going to temporarily update MWF instead of TTH to try and make up for lost time a little bit. Once classes start back, or I get work, I probably won't have time to update 3 times a week.
